FAQ - Bookings/prices
How do i book a tattoo?
1
Send me your idea through the contact form or by email at Obitattoos@gmail.com. Include a short description, the placement and rough size (a photo of the spot helps), any reference images, and the days that suit you. I usually reply within 48 hours.
How much does a tattoo cost?
2
Every tattoo is a custom piece, there is no hourly rate. You can always request a price quote for an idea or design, this is based on the total time spent tattooing and the total size and detail of the tattoo. The price/quote can change if changes are made to the time/size/detail of the design/tattoo.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
3
Yes. A deposit confirms your appointment. It is part of the total price, but it is not refundable.
Without a deposit, I cannot help you.
Do you have a waiting list?
4
No I don’t. I take bookings 24/7.
Can I see my design before the appointment?
5
I only share Large scale designs that require detailed planning in advance. For other designs, these will be ready on the appointment itself.
Do you take walk-ins?
6
I only book in advance but when I’m in the studio and I have time, I can always tattoo. Otherwise other colleagues in the studio might be able to help you out.
Can I reschedule?
7
This is possible, but deposits are only moved to a next appointment- not refunded.
Which payment methods do you accept?
8
I accept PayPal, bank transfer, Tikkie or cash.
Do you make stuff and you’d like to trade? Email me your proposal and we can discuss it.
FAQ - Styles/designs
What styles do you tattoo?
1
Fine line, blackwork, dotwork and Asian-inspired work such as snakes, oni masks and dragons. I also do minimalist pieces and line art. Have a look at the gallery or my Instagram page to see if my style fits your idea.
Can you tattoo a design I found online?
2
I can use images you collect online to make my own design, I draw each design and don’t use any AI. If you do send me an AI generated reference, do know that these tend to be incredibly detailed and often nowhere near possible to tattoo. This could only serve as ‘inspiration’.
Do you do cover-ups?
3
Yes but this depends on how big the original tattoo is, how it healed, how dark it is and what kind of tattoo you’d like to cover it with. Other options are blast-overs or blackouts.
FAQ - The appointment
Does it hurt?
1
This is largely affected by the placement of the tattoo as some body parts are usually more painful then others. One might experience pain very differently at spots compared to others so there is no universal way to tell if you will actually experience ‘pain’.
How long will it take?
2
This heavily depends on the tattoo design, the smallest of tattoos might only take 15 minutes whereas big designs can take multiple day sessions.
Can I bring a friend?
3
Yes, one person is welcome. The studio is small, so please let me know in advance. Do not bring kids.
How old do I need to be?
4
18+
Is the studio licensed?
5
Yes. Tattoo studios in the Netherlands need a GGD licence and must follow strict hygiene rules. Every needle is sterile and single-use.
FAQ - AFTERCARE
How long does it take to heal?
1
Around 4 to 6 weeks for the skin to fully heal. Read the full aftercare guide for step-by-step instructions.
Can I swim or go to the gym?
2
Avoid swimming, baths, saunas and sweaty workouts for at least 2 weeks, and keep the tattoo out of the sun. After healing, use 50+ sunblock to keep a long lasting tattoo looking well.
What if i need a touch up?
3
If you followed the aftercare well, a touch up is most of the time not needed. Do you see small gaps, light shading or you just want to make sure everything is okay? Send an email with a picture of the tattoo. The first touch up is usually free of charge unless you neglected the aftercare.
